If our lives are shaped and defined by our Stories, spring delivers a wealth of tales: Lenten, Easter, Pasha, Eastre, Passover. Bunnies, chocolate eggs, fuzzy yellow chicks, cherry blossom festivals. Add to them, on this March 31, a Sap Moon: the second (blue) moon of March, the symbol of the sap running, the days lengthening, the return of light and warmth, the world awakening each day with a chorus of birdsong.

(Audio recorded today in the yard of my home in Kitsilano, Vancouver, including the background roar of a high-density urban neighbourhood.)
